Hubungan Derajat Hipertensi dengan Waktu Pulih Sadar Pasien Pasca Anestesi Umum di RSI Sultan Agung

Abstract

  Background: The prevalence of hypertension in Indonesia reaches 30.8%. This high prevalence has significant clinical relevance in the context of anesthesiology, as hypertension can affect hemodynamic stability and slow down the elimination of anesthetic agents in postoperative patients. Chronic hypertension has been clinically proven to slow down the metabolism and elimination rate of anesthetic agents from the patient's body, which has the potential to prolong the recovery of consciousness time. Objective: To determine the relationship between hypertension grade and recovery time in patients after general anesthesia in the recovery room of RSI Sultan Agung Semarang. Methods: This study used an analytic observational design with a cross-sectional approach. Consecutive sampling was applied, yielding a total of 70 respondents. Hypertension grade data were collected from secondary data in the form of medical records, while recovery time was measured directly using the Modified Aldrete Score instrument. Data were analyzed using the Chi-Square test at α < 5%. Results: The results showed a highly significant and directly proportional relationship between hypertension grade and prolonged recovery time in patients after general anesthesia at the Central Surgical Unit of RSI Sultan Agung Semarang (p value = 0.000). Conclusion: This study concludes that a higher grade of hypertension can affect the recovery of consciousness time following general anesthesia.
